Any twisting with weight bearing
You should be wearing a brace to limit the motion in the ankle, so the ligaments have a better chance of healing properly. You should do as little as possible. No sports or lower extremity training that puts weight on the sprained ankle.
Turning, twisting activities Uneven surfaces.
There are many type of activity that can aggravate a sprain. Always stay away from high impact activity in activity that causes lateral movement such as basketball, tennis. Sometimes just normal daily activity can aggravate condition as well. Wearing a brace can be beneficial to prevent reinjury. Jonathan M. Hi! Remember to have an evaluation by a podiatrist. I would avoid uneven terrain and any motion that is a side-to-side kind of movement like playing tennis or zumba.
I would recommend avoiding all activities that require movement of the affected ankle.

Begin with rest, ice and elevation. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle specialist (podiatrist) for diagnosis and treatment options.
Until you heal and are out of pain, you should avoid all activities that put stress on the foot and ankle. RICE therapy is recommended for acute injuries, such as a sprained ankle. But if the pain persists for >1 month after injury, you should seek medical attention.
