You can only treat with prescription medications and you need to see your doctor and get a prescription if it is warranted. It is a good idea to follow up with your doctor and explore your treatment plan.
Hard to answer because I don't know what kind of colitis you are referring to. There are many types of infectious colitis and the antibiotics chosen will differ depending on the organism present. Clostridium difficile infection requires vancomycin or fidaxomicin as an example. Other bacterial colitis is often treated with metronidazole or ciprofloxacin, but other antibiotics are also available.
