Seek a consult from a board certified orthodontist to give you specific information about your case. The compliance requirement is the biggest disadvantage for some patient as per my experience. Which means you have to actually wear the aligners for the treatment to be effective.

I really have t seen any disadvantages for this Tx as long as your are under the hands of a well trained dentist or orthodontist trained in Invisalign Tx and that is dedicated to your end goal . The most important thing on your end is compliance !
