“What can I expect after oral surgery?”
I have a couple of fractured teeth from an injury. My operation is next week. How long of a recovery time and how intense can I expect?

Depends on the surgery and the surgeon. I would typically tell my patients to expect 2-3 days of soreness, mild swelling, but back to routine activity pretty quickly.
Hi, it really depends on how extensive the surgery will be. Expect some swelling and recovery will be 3-4 days usually.
It depends on upper or lower teeth, front or back, whether you are having bone grafting, whether you smoke and your doctor's experience. Expect about a week of recovery. You don't have to stay home all week but may have to take some form of pain medication and soft diet. Good Luck.

Recovery is totally dependant on what type of surgery is done. If the teeth are removed it can be sore for several days, where ibuprophen and or tylenolol may be all you need for pain. Sometimes a narcotic is prescribed when the expectation of discomfort will be greater than ibuprophen or tylenolol can control. A complete comprehensive consultation with your surgeon should go over post operative care and expectations of, and control of pain.
Depend on if they are upper or lower teeth. Usually recovery is longer for lower teeth then uppers, especially if bone is removed to extract the broken tooth. I tell my patients 1-7 days.
