There are many things that can go into having a hearing loss. If your child has hearing issues, then I recommend seeing and ENT as well as an audiologist to determine the best course of treatment and to answer your questions.

There are many etiologies for hearing difficulties and hearing impairments in babies including viral infection. You will want to bring your baby to a pediatric audiologist for assessment/testing, diagnosis, and intervention as needed. Ask your physician for a referral to a pediatric audiologist.
