If you had surgery for the dentures on the same day you should only eat soft foods like mashed potatoes, vegetables etc any time you start with a new denture it is advisable to chew soft foods, take small bites, and chew
The better question is what can you eat. Dentures can be amazing but there is a learning curve on how to eat with them. I dont usually tell my patients any limitation on eating. A lot of my patients can eat apples and steak and some can not. So try to eat everything and your denture will be the one that limits you
New dentures? Take it slow and easy. Start soft. And add in more textures and chewy foods as you adjust to them. It's like breaking in new shoes that you plan to wear everyday. Then once your mouth is feeling great you can eat anything. The same things that can stain natura teeth can stain dentures. Coffee, blueberries, red wine etc. but clean them and you dont have to avoid those things. Biting into a jaw breaker candy can chip a natural tooth or a denture tooth. Your dentures aren't invincible but they aren't fragile either (unless dropped). Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef>
