You do know that if you break a bone it will be very painful. Knee replacement surgery means the bones are being sawed, cut and shaped so that the proper sized prosthesis will be inserted. During the surgery skin is cut ,Bones are sawed so thatthe prosthesis is placed inside your bones and over your bones with a tight fit held by cement. This is a painful procedure as many surgeries are and may last up to three or four weeks or more after the surgery with pain decreasing from9/10 to 2 /10 by 6 to 8 weeks. This isusing a scale of pain from 0 - to 10.
Usual to have pain 1 week after surgery.

The surgery causes pain after knee replacement surgery. Im not sure what you are expecting 1 week after surgery. Recovery from a knee replacement is 6-12 months and you are 1 week into that recovery. Should you see a doctor? Sure. I'm pretty sure you have a post-surgical follow-up scheduled with your surgeon. Do you need to see them urgently? No.
You need to follow up regularly with your surgeon. There are multiple reasons for pain after total knee replacement. They are divided into two categories: early and late onset. Even just muscular pain from a recent operation takes time. Just follow up regularly with your surgeon. You need to check in with home for incision care also.
Hope this is helpful. Thanks.
You may have great technical surgeon but he completely failed in patient education.
