The most common cause would be a Joint dysfunction of movement and possible spinal nerve irrational to the second Cervical (Neck) Spinal bone. The C2 vertebra, controls 80% of neck rotation. Pain with this particular Neck range of motion, would cause a detailed evaluation of the alignment and motion of the second neck bone from your Skull towards the top of the Neck. My Clinic utilizes the Scientifically proven Myovision Dynarom to detect if you in fact have muscle guarding in this area of your Spine that indicates objectively if Muscle Guarding is present from a recent injury to your Neck and/or Lower Back area.
