My baby is 1 month old. I am worried about him getting whooping cough. What causes whooping cough?

Whooping cough is caused by Bortadella pertussis and is bacterial infection. If any family members have a cough, especially people who have not been vaccinated lately with TDap, vaccine that protects against whooping cough, baby definitely needs to be seen with any kind of cough. One month old baby must be seen by their pediatrician if any kind of cough is present.
