Orthopaedic Surgeon Questions Knee Injuries and Disorders

What could be wrong

I injured myself about a week ago by accidentally kneeling down on a large piece of broken glass that punctured through my patella and ruptured the tendon in my right knee. When I was washing myself today I noticed a large size lump that is hard on top of my knee and it hurts to sit, stand, bend, lay down, wear a brace or do anything at all. I want to know what is wrong, the doctors say nothing is the matter, but I think 100% otherwise and currently am very scared to find out but I need to know the information to be able to figure out my next plan of action.

Come be pre-patellar swelling(housemaids knee or blood in the bursa).See an orthopedic surgeon.
See your doctor again. Make sure there is no infection. He might recommend
further testing
Ask for an MRI.
