What do I do about my daughters vaccinations?

My daughter is 6 years old and hasn't had any vaccinations in a long time. She needs proof to stay in school. What do I do?

The short answer is simple….Please, please get your daughter her immunizations to protect her from severe infectious diseases. The vaccines that your daughter may be due for are very safe, very effective and have been studied and used for many many years. Please talk with your primary care physician about which vaccines are needed. Then, along with your child’s physician write out a plan of action as to the schedule she needs to become fully vaccinated. As a pediatrician myself who has seen how severe these infections can be, I cannot urge you strongly enough to get these vaccinations asap.

You need to schedule an appointment with your pediatrician not only for looking over her current vaccine record in order to determine which vaccines are needed to catch her up, but also for a full check-up.
