Not sure what you mean by "colitis attack" since there are many types of colitis. Most people might mean an infectious colitis, which would present with diarrhea and crampy pain. Other colitis like diverticulitis presents with only sudden acute pain in the left lower quadrant. In general for colon pain from inflammation, it will be located in the lower half of the abdomen.
