The symptoms of a blockage in one of the heart arteries can vary, however the most common symptom is pressure in the center of the chest that comes on with exertion and is relieved by rest. Sometimes the pain travel down the arm and jaw. Usually a stress test is a good place to start to determine if there might be a blockage and can be confirmed by a angiogram. If the pain doesn’t go away with rest then it may be more severe and you may be having a heart attack, which is best evaluated in the ER.
