General Practitioner Questions Lumps

What exactly could my condition be

Hello,

There is some kind of lump under my skin in my lower leg, its just above my bone. It is almost painless, like it doesn't hurt at all, it kind of just exists there for like the past 4 months.

I never noticed this lump except after a soccer match, where a player tackled me and both our legs got in direct contact and it was a very aggressive tackle.

I'm not sure whether this lump existed even before this event, but I only noticed it then.

What could it be?

Thank you for your help.

You should go see your doctor. It is likely that it is a mild case of a Baker's cyst, which is a hernia from the synovial bursa (sack) behind the knee. It can grow larger, and become painful. It is easy to fix, but it requires surgery. That is the best case scenario. The worst case scenario is that you have a sarcoma which is a very dangerous cancer form. In any case, get it diagnosed and taken care of.
