“What happens if you get a cavity on your wisdom teeth?”
I got a cavity on my wisdom tooth. What should I do? Should I remove my wisdom tooth?

If the plan is to have your third molars removed, then removal is the best option. If you were going to keep your Wisdom teeth, then you can have it filled.
In most cases, I would remove the wisdom tooth. If you have a cavity it is likely not easy to keep this area clean and likely the decay will return
Depending on the crowding situation in your mouth, you might not necessarily need to have the tooth removed. It is very common to have fillings done on wisdom teeth. I would talk to your dentist and discuss your specific wisdom tooth situation and risks/benefits of fillings versus extraction.
That question cannot be answered without a clinical examination. If the area of decay is relatively small and the opposing wisdom tooth is in good shape, it may be wise to just have the filling done. But if the decay is significant requiring root canal therapy with a crown or if there is no opposing wisdom tooth, it may be better to extract it. Get a professional opinion from your dentist and let them discuss all the options with you. Good luck
I generally recommend removing a wisdom tooth that has a cavity on it. I recommend this for a couple of reasons. Most of the time, the wisdom tooth is far enough to the back of the mouth that it is very difficult or impossible for me to do a filling that would predictably last on that tooth. Also, with it being so far in the back of your mouth, it is hard for you to keep clean.
