Its possible you have gum disease. Please ask a dentist to evaluate your gums as soon as possible. There are successful treatments available.
Salt water rinses, over the counter mouth gels like orajel or anbesol, or clove oil all help. There is an underlining issue if your gums are sore after brushing. I would consult your dentist. It usually is a gum infection or worse.
You’re either scrubbing too hard or using a hard or medium toothbrush
(should be soft only).
If you haven’t had a cleaning in the last few months, you may have tarter
(calculous) build up causing irritation.

Hi,Sore gums after brushing can come from several different causes. There may be a heavy buildup of tartar which will make the gums severely inflamed. Your gums may also be infected which is called Acute Necrotizing Ulsurative Ginivitis (ANUG). If there is a new toothbrush, the bristles are usually sharp and will irritate the gums, leading to soreness. To resolve this problem, you will need to visit a dentist and have a deep scaling, maybe some antibiotics, and a dedicated home care regime until all the soreness is resolved.
