Some vaseline may help temporarily but really need to get an adjustment by the dentist who made the dentures in order to receive the easy more permanent solution.
There are lots of things that can cause soreness but the most common is a loose or ill-fitting partial. If your partial moves a lot when you are eating or talking it will rub the gums and leave a sore, kind of like getting a blister on your heal if your shoes are too big. The solution can be as simple as tightening the clasps. Other times a relining of the partial denture may be needed. In the short term, you can use denture adhesive to hold it still for some temporary stabilization. Then give your dentist a call to have them take a look. God Bless and Keep Smiling.
Great question! Often times removing the denture and giving your tissues a rest can help. In addition, try rinsing with warm salt water 3 times a day. Many times sore gums can be attributed to poor fitting dentures or other underlying problems that would be best diagnosed by your dentist. Hope that helps!
I always recommend salt water rinses, 1 teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces of warm water. Swish and spit out. It will help heal the area up. You can try Anbesol or baby numbing tooth gel from the store too. Go back to the office that made the partial and see about adjusting the partial as well. Hope that helps.
