I had a knee surgery 5 days ago. It hurts bad now. What helps with pain after knee surgery?

1 } well placed bulky dressings from above your knee to above your ankle. 2} good long-lasting narcotics {extended release}. you should also be wearing Ted stockings to prevent blood clots in your leg which also can be a source of pain In the back of your leg. Let your Dr. know about pain that is centered in the back of your leg because your surgery was in the front of your knee3 ] Moderate pain is Not Unusual up to a week after surgery {some people are more pain tolerant than others}. If pain is severe and increasing,then this should be taken very seriously because the pain should be decreasing as each day goes by. Call your doctor.

You should have gotten a prescription for pain medicine from your doctor; try taking over the counter Tylenol/Motrin/Aleve, elevate, and ice.
There are multiple reasons for pain after knee surgery. I would recommend to talk to your doctor.
Rest, ice, compression and elevation. Nsaids good too.
