There really isn't a "home remedy" for a tooth infection. Some things that may help ease the discomfort are as follows: warm, moist compresses on the outside of the face. 5-minute sessions every 15 to 30 min. If that increases your discomfort, try ice packs on the outside of your face every 20 minutes. Warm salt water rinses help reduce the bacterial load. See a dentist as the source of the infection needs to be determined. Gingival vs. tooth. The source of the infection must be treated, often with the help of antibiotics.
The best approach is to see your dentist for a diagnosis and plan. Tooth infections can spread and cause major problems.
The answer is none. Tooth infection is a dead tooth and it needs to be treated with Root Canal Therapy or extraction. You can take ibuprofen for the pain and salt water rinses can help sooth the infected area. However, no home therapy can fix the problem. See your dentist as soon as possible before you start to lose bone.
Use your telephone to call a dentist. In the interim, a teaspoon of salt in a warm glass of water and rinse 3-5 times per day till you see your dentist.
