Treatment of carpal tunnel depends on the severity of the disease whether mild, moderate, or severe. I would suggest seeing your orthopedic doctor.
Hello and thanks for sharing your question with the FATD community.
Carpal tunnel syndrome an be annoying. How long have you had it? If you and your doctors are sure that is what you have, then after conservative care (bracing, PT, anti-inflammatory medication) injections or surgery are the next steps. If you are adverse to surgery (which works quite well in the right hands and with the right patient), then injections can help. They do not need to be steroids, but a good injection doctor can try and use normal saline as this has been shown to break up adhesions around the nerve and may alleviate symptoms.
I hope this helps. Feel better. Happy Holidays!

The best treatment for Carpal Tunnel depends upon the cause and history of CTS as well as the severity of it and how long you have had it and how much it affects your daily life (ADL). In general, home treatment for some relief includes avoiding activities that caused it, use of a CTS brace which when fitted properly can help stabilize and limit pain, as well as using ice (some braces have removable ice packs that you can insert into the brace. A medical doctor might recommend certain medications to use, as well. Consulting with a Hand Specialist is a great way to explore more options.

NSAID like Ibuprofen, I like 600 mg nightly or up to 4 times a day if needed.
Then if still needed, Velcro Wrist cock-up splints from the drug store worn at night to stop night time waking
If you are being awakened once a week or more, consider surgery. Find someone that does a mini incision technique and lets you go back to desk work in 3 to 6 days. Heavy work needs up to 6 or more weeks depending on type of work.
