Lots of Quadricep strengthening exercises
It depends on the type of sprain! You would need an MRI or physical exam to know
Like all ligament injuries (sprains), the affected area needs rest and maybe short term immobilization, then a gradual return to exercise. The term “sprained knee” is very general term, you may need to see an orthopedic surgeon for eval and more precise diagnosis, maybe even an MRI scan to be exactly precise.
Good luck.
Ice, brace, rest, therapy. Assuming nothing torn, which would need MRI.
You need to get evaluation from nearest urgent car to define the grade of sprain. As there are various grades of sprain. They might give brace or splint or boot depending on severity of Injury. They might suggest rest, ice, elevation and compression. Protected weight-bearing and activity modification depending on grade of sprain.
First step is making sure that there aren’t any ligament or meniscus injury. If not physical therapy under the supervision of a therapist is the best way. Otherwise ligament reconstruction or meniscus repair might be indicated
