All local anesthetic can impact the heart function. It’s a matter of the therapeutic window. Bupivacaine has the lowest dose cardiac toxicity.
The local anesthetic which has serious cardio-toxic effects is called Bupivacaine or Marcaine. Serious cardiotoxicity can occur if you are given an overdose of the drug ( > 2.5 mg/kg).
