Most antibiotics used with efficacy are Macrobid, Ciprofloxacin, Bactrim, Levaquin, Amoxicillin amongst others these antibiotics have good penetrance to the bladder.
Keflex, Bactrim, Cirpo and Augmentin tend to be most common. But depends on resistance of the bacteria so doing a urine culture is helpful in deciding on antibiotics.
Usually kidney infections are serious and need intravenous antibiotics. If you have a bladder infection the most common antibiotic is cipro, but consult your doctor as all antibiotics have side effects
