“What is the procedure for a hair transplant?”
I am a 36-year-old woman, and am suffering from severe alopecia. I am considering undergoing a hair transplant procedure. What does this procedure involve? Is it safe or are there any risks involved in this surgery?

Hair transplantation is achieved by removing grafts/follicles from the back of the head which are more resistant to hormonal changes, and placing them in areas of low growth or baldness. There are two methods to remove the grafts Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Each involve different techniques. I’m not sure which procedure you intend to have done but you can find further information on each techinique I mentioned above on google. As with any office based procedure there are some risks involved, but Hair Restoration, when done properly and when after care is done correctly is a safe procedure.
