There are different types of medication for the treatment for anxiety. Your psychopharmacologist would be the best resource for discussing what medication would be appropriate.
Thank you for reaching out with your question. To answer your question, I would need to know more about you, your medical condition, and your history.

For clarification purposes, I am not a medical doctor or a Ph.D. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. That said, thank you for your question. First, it is important to try and determine the root cause of the anxious experiences you’re having. You may want to consider seeking mental health counseling and a therapist can assist you in determining the source of the anxiety and help you develop tools and techniques to better control anxious experiences. Medication can be helpful, but it’s not a panacea. A psychiatrist or your PCP can evaluate you and determine what medication would be best for you to help manage; however, therapy would also be extremely helpful as well. Best wishes and take care of your mental health and wellness.
For more specifics, I recommend consulting with a Psychiatrist as Psychologist (with few exceptions) do not prescribe medication. With that said, there are short-acting anti-anxiety medications that are in and out of your system within hours that can help with more acute anxiety situations. There are others that need to build up in your system and are in your body 24/7 to help more chronic anxiety concerns.
