Stimulants like Adderall or Ritalin; non-stimulants like Strattera. If you have any further questions or need more clarity, please consult with a psychiatrist. If you`re in Texas, we welcome you to reach out to www.MidCitiesPsychiatry.com, we`re here to help you.
There are several different types of medications that can help, however, medications must never be viewed as the sole management strategy. Psychostimulants such as Ritalin and Adderall are most common, but they do have the potential for tolerance and dependence. Newer medications for ADHD such as Strattera do not have abuse potential. Medications such as Clonidine and Guanfacine are likely to help the hyperactivity symptoms.
