Good questions! After you have a Root Canal, and depending on how much post-operative pain you might experiencce, you may take any one of the Over-the-Counter non-steroid anti-inflamatory medication such as Advil, Mortin or the generic products of Ibuprofen. They are usually 200mg each tablets. You may take anywhere 600 mg to 8oomg each time. Please DO NOT take more than a total of 2400 mg ( that is 12 tablets ) per day. Or else you may over-dose and cause ulceration/ bleeding in your stomach. Please this medication after you ahve a full stomach. Do NOT take it with empty stomach. However, if you are allergic to the above medication, please do not take Ibuprofen. You may take over-the-counter Tyenolor Acetaminophine instead. It is usually either in a 325 mg or 500mg each tablet. If you takes Tylenol, please DO NOT take more than 4000 mg per day. Hope that will help! May God Bless you!
