What pain reliever can I take for pancreatitis?

I have pancreatitis and want to treat it. What pain reliever can I take for pancreatitis?

1 Answer

Any pain reliever can be used for pancreatitis in theory. If severe, narcotics as used, such as hydrocodone. In the hospital, morphine or hydromorphone are used. For ambulatory patients not given a narcotic, then ibuprofen or Tylenol is ok. For long term pain control a pain specialist referral should be sought.
