Depending on the severity, most important is balance of the vertebra above and below it, so Chiropractic is a step one and ask for them, if appropriate, to learn McKenzie extension exercises, which in many cases helps lumbar spine herniated discs. My response is based on you having a lumbar disc issue. If in the cervical or thoracic spine, ask the Chiropractor for the appropriate exercises.
Chiropractic adjustments, flexion distraction therapy, ultrasound therapy and acupuncture are all options that are effective for herniated disc treatment. Dr. Scott Van Dam 7015325320
Good Day! That is kind of a loaded question because a lot of it depends on the amount of herniation the disc is suffering.  It can be anything from a simple bulging disc to a full blown fragmentation.  Chiropractic care and acupuncture are both very viable treatments for all but the most severe cases, which could require surgical intervention. I hope that helps and feel free to reach out if I can be of any further help. Kurt von Rice, D.C.
Hello, There are a few effective modalities, flexion/distraction table, adjustments, stretching, massages, laser therapy, and oral steroid or injections.
