Resting ice, immobilization and after inflammation, has subsided to do physical therapy
The best thing for ankle sprains is RICE. Rest, ice, compression, and elevation. If you are still having discomfort after 2-3 weeks, then I would follow up with your local podiatrist.
Ankle sprains typically can be treated with a combination of ice elevation, gentle range of motion, exercises of the ankle and foot. When tolerated, a period of partial wheat, bearing might be beneficial, but putting some weight to canned, potentially improve the healing process. Most ankle sprains take anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks for recovery. Crutches are typically as needed. Sometimes physical therapy can be beneficial as well.
Brace topical insoles if no change xray.
Hi! Speaking in general an ankle brace and physical therapy are effective treatments for an ankle sprain.
The answer is it depends on the reason for the sprain, extend of sprain, and extend of structure dammage. THe worst it is the longer the treatment. please address this with your doctor.
Begin with rest, ice and elevation. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle specialist (podiatrist) for diagnosis and treatment options
