There are a couple of ways to close in gaps. The first, is traditional braces from an orthodontist. The second way is with Invisalign. Some general dentists as well as orthodontists provide this as a means for closing gaps. If your teeth are straight and you just want to close a gap or two, then Invisalign would be a great option to consider. If you have crowding or other concerns such as a steep over bite, then traditions braces may be the way to go!
Wire braces and Invisalign both have the potential to close the gaps.
Any type will close spaces or gaps. Try to find someone who uses self-ligating braces or Invisalign they cause minimal pain.
Any kind of alignment ( metal braces / clear aligner therapy / Invisalign ) will close the gaps but the main thing is retention after the closure and why habits like tongue thrusting or high Frenum so the reason needs to be known and addressed .

The two common types of orthodontic intervention (which close gaps or straighten teeth) are: wire/bracket or traditional braces and aligner style or Invisalign. It’s up to your Dr. to decide what will be best for the specific condition.
