The most important thing to remember is that post-op, you do not want any type of eye infection, ever. With a pool, a lake, the ocean, or a jacuzzi, microbes are always present. I always suggest that when swimming in any body of water, eye goggles should be worn. There have also been cases of microbes getting into the ears, causing serious neurological problems, so ear plugs would also be recommended. And chlorine and other chemicals in a pool causes red eyes when not wearing swimming goggles. When showering, water should not get into your eyes during your recovery period. Most often, it is better to wait until your eyes have fully healed and your eye doctor has approved your swimming in your preferred body of water. This is usually after 4-5 weeks, but every case can vary. Any comments here should be verified and approved by your eye doctor because they will know your eye health and general health more than I do. And they will also know how quickly your eyes have healed. So, please discuss every question you have with your eye doctor. Good luck and best wishes.
I would take at least a few weeks
Not immediately. Ask your surgeon when you are healed sufficiently.
