When should a child get speech therapy?

My daughter is 3 years old. She has speech problems. When should a child get speech therapy?

Now is a good time to seek speech therapy services for your daughter. Early intervention is key. It is best to get an assessment to help determine her strengths and weaknesses and continue building from there.
A child can be seen as early as 18 months, sometimes earlier depending on their severity and other diagnoses. If you are concerned, ask your doctor for a referral to a speech language pathologist who can evaluate and determine the best treatment options for your daughter
That is outside of my area of expertise; however, if there are noticeable delays, hearing and speech/language evaluations as soon as possible. An audiologist would do the hearing evaluation, preferably a pediatric audiologist and a speech-language pathologist would do the speech/language evaluation.
Early intervention is key. Definitely get yourself a speech therapy evaluation as soon as possible. "Speech problems" is not specific. You need to ask the doctor for a prescription order for speech therapy evaluation or a referral for a speech pathology consult and you need to get an assessment from a speech language pathologist and work with that professional on your kid's needs. Early intervention is key, so don't stop asking until you get a doctor to write you a referral order for speech therapy evaluation.
Early intervention is best. If you suspect an issue, please find a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist near you at: https://www.asha.org/profind/

Best of luck.
