I haven't meet ,.
In general, that should be an issue with caffeine intake.
Talk to your practitioner.
Usually it has the opposite effect. But I have found that a few people do react just the opposite. it may be the points used or the individual level of sensitivity,
It is very hard to say without seeing you in person.
Usually after massage and acupuncture sessions patient should get gradually better sleep. You better get a good practicitioner!
The treatment has caused physical changes for the better which have started to cause 'downstream' discomforts as surrounding tissue adjusts, or whether there has been an energetic change which may need further adjustment. Sometimes clearing a blockage, for example, can reveal further blockages lower down a pathway of energy. We have also come across situations where unravelling a pattern of unbalanced energies has made patients slightly 'hyper' for a few days as they start to function better.

MOST PEOPLE SLEEP BETTER AFTER A SESSION. YOU CAN BECOME MY PATIENT AND SEE, LOL. HOWEVER, IF YOU USED TOO MUCH ENERGY WHILE YOU ARE GETTING TREATMENT OR YOU DRANK COFFEE OR CAFFEINE THAT DAY, ITS EFFECT CAN BECOME STRONGER AFTER ACUPUNCTURE, RESULTING IN NOT SLEEPING.
Thank you for your question,

I’m sorry, I can’t answer this for you because I would need to have a whole lot more information about your clinical scenario. This blog is to provide general information, not clinical guidance or care.

It sounds like you really need to talk with your acupuncturist about your concern. You may also need to consult your medical doctor about your sleep issues.

Be well, Dr. B
That I don't know. I would ask your acupuncturist, maybe then can adjust your treatment or add some points to to relax you so that you can get the rest you need.
Good afternoon,

After acupuncture treatment, most of the time, the patient sleeps a lot better. Ask your practitioner what is the cause.

Thank you,

David
Great Question,

Sometimes after acupuncture, the body is so energized that the extra energy is keeping you up at night. It should even out the nest day. However, if it does not, the practitioner may need to switch protocol.
Acupuncture serves to switch us from a sympathetic, or a fight-or-flight state, to a parasympathetic, or a rest-and-relax state. For some, who’ve been under intense amounts of stress and fatigue for a long while, instead experience a jolt of energy after their acupuncture treatment. Sometimes, supplements for supporting the adrenals could be helpful if this is the case, or taking GABA after a treatment to enhance your sleep.
Acupuncture can be stimulating to some individuals. I advise you let your acupuncturist know this and they can choose a different combination of points.
Most of my patients find they sleep very, very well the night after a treatment. You might speak to your practitioner and ask them. They may be stimulating you instead of calming your system. Some people respond the opposite of normal to all kinds of things, including acupuncture.
Though acupuncture can be very relaxing, for some it can also be rejuvinating. However, this can also be caused if there are more needles placed closer to your head than to your feet. If you notice that is true, I suggest talking with your acupuncturist and asking if they use other points lower on the body instead of the ones higher up on the body.
Every single time, you could not fall asleep after acupuncture? It might be coincidence.
I can't say I have ever heard of this happening to a patient before. Do the treatments cause you anxiety/panic? Is your acupuncturist a fully trained acupuncturist with a graduate degree in Asian medicine? If not, I might consider finding one and switching if this is your routine experience (negative side effects).
Usually after acupuncture, even during the session, the patient falls asleep. I think the doctor chose some wrong points, that's why you couldn't sleep.
Perhaps your acupuncturist has to do a more sedating treatment for you. Acupuncture is supposed to relax you but also enable you to feel more energetic and motivated to get your daily tasks finished. If you are in need of sedation ask your acupuncturist to use a different technique.
Some people have sensitivity from the needles and this can cause pain and affect sleep patterns.
Without knowing what you're being treated for and what kind of provider you're seeing for acupuncture, it's very difficult to answer this question. Generally acupuncture causes some fatigue, so insomnia after a treatment would be unusual.

The first thing I'd recommend is: make sure you're seeing a nationally board certified and state licensed acupuncturist. This will be someone with an L.Ac. or R.Ac. credential issued by the state and either a Dipl Ac or Dipl OM national board certification. If your provider doesn't have one (preferably both) of these, then you're seeing someone who has not graduated from an accredited school of Chinese medicine.

The second thing I'd suggest is: talk to your provider about what you're experiencing. It's possible they've missed something during diagnosis and might not be applying a treatment that's optimal for your individual presentation. Your feedback might be the information they need to make a correction and get you on the right track.
