“Why do I have a high fever after a root canal?”
I had a root canal yesterday. Today I have a high fever. Why do I have a high fever after a root canal?

Hi! It could be a complete coincidence or it could be your body fighting off the remainder of an infection that caused the need for a root canal in the first place but I dont fully know without X-rays and evaluating you in person. I wouldnt be alarmed at this time though! Dr. Matt
Your high fever is probably independent of the root canal. Have your dentist check to see if you are allergic to any medications the dentist used. Also have the dentist check to see if there is any swelling or soreness at the treatment site. The dentist may have to take a radiograph of the area. Make sure to see your dentist promptly as this could be an emergency. DENTIST
