Why do I have excessive and thick saliva?

It has been more than a month that my mouth produces excessive and thick saliva which creates string/line when talking. I am using Topamax tablet for migraines for a year. I consulted with the doctor and he advised some antibiotics and ask to drink more water, though it did not work. Even though I am using mouth wash and toothbrush on daily basis and changed the toothpaste to see if it could cause, but nothing work. Would appreciate advice regarding the above.

Thick saliva result from dehydration or breathing through the mouth. Also, there are conditions or diseases that causes such problems, and they are Sjögren disease, or cystic fibrosis. In addition, medications are far more common causes. Topamax side effects causes diarrhea, bad taste in the mouth, loss of appetite tingling of the hand and feet. If you have diarrhea, it causes dehydration and may be the cause of your symptoms. Follow your Dr. recommendation. Hydrated by drinking f fluid. Thank you.
I would check with an oral surgeon. It may be a side effect of the medication. Check the label on your medication for a complete list of side effects.

Check if the medication that you are taking could have that side effect. Also, it might pay to see a dentist who specializes in oral pathology.
There could be an issue with the salivary glands Would recommend a consultation with an Oral Pathologist or Oral Surgeon thanks
