Why do I have off and on diarrhea?

I have had diarrhea off and on for three weeks now. It’s not a lot every time I go but I have to be near a bathroom when I do go. I had my gallbladder out 9 1/2 years ago. I also have itp, hypothyroidism, seizures due to itp, and high blood pressure.

Diarrhea can be from many reasons (more than 20!). Commonest being lactose intolerance and irritable bowel. However, more extensive work-up is needed to make sure you do not have a serious condition. Please contact your gastroenterologist for further diagnostic work-up.
3 weeks of diarrhea is considered an acute diarrhea and most of these are from a transient infection. If the diarrhea continues for more than 4 weeks, then it is considered chronic and you should be evaluated and tested to try to determine a cause.
You can develop lactose intolerance at any age. I suggest stopping milk products untill you see your doctor.
