The bile reflux entity in general has not been clearly defined as a specific disease although it can occasionally contributes to the patient’s underlying disorders such as esophageal reflux disease or functional dyspepsia. In some patients when standard treatment is the completely effective, we can add bile acid binding resins such as cholestyramin to see if it can improve the symptoms.
No specific treatment for that. It is not necessarily abnormal for bile reflux to be seen during an endoscopy. The significance of bile reflux needs to be put in the context of the other symptoms that may be present and after a proper history and physical exam have been done.
It depends on the severity of your symptoms. It’s a very long discussion and most people have both bile and acid reflux. Treating acid reflux is easier than treating bile reflux. You should follow the measures that are known to improve acid reflux first, then follow up with your physician who diagnosed your condition.
