I am a 39 year old female. I want to know why is spinal anesthesia better than general?

In general neither One is better than the other. It has to be in the context of the surgery and the comorbidities of the patient To make that statement
If you are pregnant and expecting to deliver, then regional anesthesia (including spinal and epidural anesthetics) is 17 times safer than general anesthesia for delivery.
That is an assumption everyone makes. In good hands both are safe.
