After any major dental work like fillings, crowns, and veneers, teeth can become sensitive to hot and cold foods/drinks. Most of the time, the sensitivity goes away within a few days but it could last up to a few weeks. Sensodyne toothpaste can be used during this time to help reduce sensitivity. Usually, there is no dull or sharp pain after drilling on a tooth unless the cavity gets close to the nerve. Best wishes.
You may have mild soreness around the gums, if anything at all. A little
salt water rinse and Advil/Tylenol will handle that easily.

It depends, they should not as long as they are healthy and not already sensitive because the preps should generally be relatively minimally invasive, however if the teeth are already sensitive or decayed some sensitivity or discomfort could be expected, typically short lived, so a conversation should be had with the dentist performing the veneer therapy to inform you of the condition of the teeth and what sensitivity to expect, the dentist treating you will know you best so he or she can best answer the question based on each individual's circumstances.
