“Yellow bump with red hardened skin around.”
I am currently visiting Thailand, and having a little problem with my foot.
It all started yesterday, I woke up with muscle spasms and had fever like symptoms, even breathing slightly difficult. I thought it’s maybe due to the AC in our hotel room. After I while I noticed readiness on right foot and got very itchy. I thought maybe it’s just simple mosquito bite, nothing special.
But after a few hours I started feeling dizzy, stomach cramps, out of breath and even felt like vomiting. I was confused and didn’t understand what happened, I thought it could maybe be food poisoning from the market we visited yesterday night, but my girlfriend looked totally fine.
Then my foot started itching again, and I noticed a red spot with hardened skin, with a yellow bump in the middle. This reminded me of a friends situation back in Belgium, where he has been bitten by a spider.
I decided to get a cream from the pharmacy, to disinfect and treat my problem. I waited a couple of hours but the pain still didn’t go away, I felt like vomiting and dizzy again.
I did my research online, and we decided that I need to visit emergency room in the hospital. So I came in there and described my symptoms. The doctors took me in very quick, checked my blood-pressure and weight. After that they took me to a room where doctor disinfected my wound and prescribed some antibiotics. I thought maybe they should cut it open or give me any venom shot, because I’m still worried. But the doctor told me to wait 3 more days and come back if it is worse.
My question is, should I wait 3 more days? Or should I go back to the doctor? Because I have noticed that the infected area got slightly bigger and the yellow bump expanded too. What can I do next?
