“Pilonidal Cyst?”
I believe I have a Pilonidal cyst and of course, it's very painful when there is friction in the area. I don't have a sinus or an opening, but the skin seems to be infected (painful and swollen). My question for you is will I still be able to work? I'm in desperate need to continue at my job. Thank you for your time.

Pilonidal cysts occur on the backside and can be painful. Best to be checked out by a local doctor to see if a surgical consult is warranted.

Sure you can work. Just try to find ways to keep pressure off of it. See a doctor - if there is something that can be drained that can help with pain along with a shot of steroid into the area.
