Psychologist Questions Nymphomania

How do I know if my wife is a nymphomaniac?

My wife won't stop. She has been constantly wanting to have sex, and I have even caught her masturbating a few times when I leave the room. I'm trying to understand why this has happened. It's been brought on quite suddenly. Is she considered a nymphomaniac? What could have caused this?

Only assessing her can you know for sure what's happening to her. A sudden increase in libido could be caused by hormonal changes. (Any new medication?) Each person has a particular level of sex energy and should listen to their body when that energy should be released (through sex, masturbation, or exercising). As her partner, you both should have a conversation of how often your sex energy needs a release and how you will both do that.

A question I have for you is: is this an increase of libido or is she now being more comfortable with her sexuality and allowing you to witness her masturbating? Either way, you both could use a psychologist to help you start this conversation and engage in a sex life you both want.

As women age, several factors come into play. They don't have to devote themselves to young children, and hormones fluctuate that can lead to an increase in libido. Women often feel like they experience a rebirth in their late 30s to early 40s. It's not unusual, but men feel a little startled by this new behavior. You essentially have a new life partner. My advice is get to know this new partner. Tell her how you're feeling and try to enjoy yourself. It usually doesn't last long. So, just go have some fun.
This is usually something that has or might have been going on, though it is a psychological matter and marriage counseling could help or try talking about it to her. Sometimes a woman needs attention from the other person and shows it differently.
