“Are any communication devices used for speech therapy?”
I am a 39 year old female. I want to know are any communication devices used for speech therapy?

Yes, they are. They can be used to support language and communication or to build language if you struggle with verbal communication.
There are many devices and apps that can be utilized during skilled therapy. This includes low tech devices such as paper communication boards, dedicated AAC devices, and apps that can be downloaded to a cellular device or iPad

Absolutely. This is a very broad question so the numerous devices that exist would only be relevant depending on the condition you are thinking about. Low tech-there are communication boards, high tech- there is Lingraphica, Prentke, DynaVox, etc. It depends on the individual since each one has different requirements and usage.
Yes there are quite a few communication devices that are used in speech therapy and also after the therapy is finished depending on the needs of the patient and the length of time that it could be helpful. If you live in an area where there is a college or university that offers a masters degree in speech pathology, that would be the best place to get an evaluation and than if warranted, receive speech therapy. If there is not a speech pathology program near you, contact your board of education in your area and so they. Should be able to recommend someone. Best wishes, Darrell Lauer, m.s., CCC/SLP

There are a number of communication devices for speech therapy. There are low tech devices such as PECs and there are high tech devices that download onto an iPad or tablet that are picture based depending on the needs of the client.
Absolutely! There are a number of different devices used for speech therapy! Some of the most common ones I've used are programs on an ipad device such as
1) Proloquo2go
2) TouchChat
3) SnapCore
As far as devices, there are low tech, mid tech, and hi-tech devices available. It all depends on the client and what their needs are for what the appropriate device to use would be.
