“Are there side effects of general anesthesia?”
My grandmother was very confused after being under general anesthesia for hip surgery, and it was almost like she was hallucinating. Could this be a side effect of general anesthesia? Are there others?

Yes. Others include disorientation, and agitation. Could be hours in elderly people.
