At what age is an autism diagnosis confirmed?

I believe my 2 year old son has autism but my son's pediatrician says it is too early.

Every intrauterine diagnostic clue available, but it's reasonable to wait until the social age of toddler.
A diagnosis of autism can typically be made by age 2. The average age at diagnosis in the United States is more than 4 years old
It is not too early for an evaluation
Yes.
You can get an "at risk for autism" diagnosis at this age which can be done using the M-CHAT. With this diagnosis, he can start early intervention therapies before age 3 then transition to a developmental preschool. At that point, the school district can do a psychoeducational evaluation and can give diagnosis, but I suggest you seek a medical diagnosis as well through a developmental pediatrician or neuropsychologist.

Please see a pediatric neurologist who will be able to guide you.
As soon as 18 months or older.

You can diagnose autism at 24 months of age. If you feel strongly, you can contact a developmental pediatrician evaluation at any time to schedule an evaluation.
