Acupuncture is highly effective for regulating the amygdala of the brain and bringing other neurological and physiological systems to a state of homeostasis, or balance. It's been proven safe and effective for PTSD, anxiety, panic disorder, depression, and other mood disorders - especially as an adjunct to other forms of therapy.
Yes acupuncture, massage, and herbs can help relieve stress, anxiety, and panic attacks, it will take you weeks or months to get rid of theses.
Acupuncture can help panic attacks. Usually after 1 treatment you will feel better. If you want to continue to help the panic attacks you will need to continue treatments for about 3 months. Depends on the amount of time that you may have been dealing with the panic attacks and if this a chronic condition or the panic attacks have just started.

I have definitely helped my patients with their anxiety and panic attacks through acupuncture. It has reduced their dependency on pharmaceutical needs and helped them interact with the world again. Please ask your primary for a recommendation on reducing any meds while trying acupuncture therapy.

Thank you for your question.
In general, acupuncture has been shown to be helpful in reducing stress and stress related anxiety. Auricular (ear) acupuncture, pressure and beading can also help and the beading technique can empower you to extend treatment and use it when you feel anxious. The beads are placed on acu points on various parts of the ear and gentle pressure applied. A theoretical western explanation as to why the ear acupuncture/pressure works for anxiety and possibly panic disorder is because the vagal nerve passes through the ear beneath the ear canal. The vagal nerve slows the heart when activated. Slow purposeful breathing dose this as well and lowers blood pressure.
Hope this helps,
B

Hi,
Yes, acupuncture can help with those issues. Depending on the root cause(s) of the issue and each person's constitution, we may also have to use herbs to help.
