“Can acupuncture help with lung pain?”
I am a 30 year old female. I want to know can acupuncture help with lung pain?

Yes it can. Acupuncture with herbs can treat diseases like serious cough, bronchitis, common cold and other issues like pneumonia, etc. We might use cupping and acupuncture, and maybe herbs to treat lung disorders.
Lung pain isn’t a common complaint. I’ve seen patients whose lungs hurt from extended coughing, dryness, or productive coughing. In these instances, acupuncture has restored balance in the lungs and helped stopped the resulting pain. When paired with traditional Chinese herbal medicine, the results are excelled.
I hope this answers your question.

Acupuncture treats lung conditions and it can be used to reduce lung pain. Acupuncture is known to reduce inflammation and swelling so it should be beneficial for your condition.

Hi,
Yes, if you are referring the lung pain to a cough or breathing pain in the chest or ribcage (intercostal space). But make sure it's not a heart pain. Please consult your local acupuncturist.

Thank you for your interest in acupuncture! Unfortunately, it is very hard to tell because not sure your condition. If you have some lung issues, I think it better to check it with your personal doctor first.
Acupuncture is about harmonizing the energy to free up the qi flow and resolve issues that may be stagnating/blocking. Pain is acupuncture's best issue to resolve, it has even been used as an anesthetic for surgery. I have even used acupuncture to help patients' breathe easier when they have difficulty breathing. Of course, if it is something physical like a rib piercing the lung or out of place you may want to seek a professional who can handle manipulating the correct realignments. Make sure to check with your primary to see if you're a candidate for acupuncture.

It might. I would certainly try acupuncture for it. Give it 3-5 treatments before evaluating whether it is working for you.
Yes absolutely, but this is a reason to go to the ER and get a chest x-ray so that you know what is causing the pain first, since lung pain could indicate a more complicated issue.
You need to see your family doctor first and ask him (her) to refer you to see the professional licensed acupuncture.
It can, but please be sure to see a cardiologist and pulmonologist to be sure that the pain is not due to a problem in the organs.
We have a seven star needle that might help with lung pain, and cupping should be helpful as well. Your practitioner could also prescribe some qigong exercises and breathing exercises specifically to help the lungs.
If you're experiencing chest pain and/or tightness and/or shortness of breath, you need to start with your primary care physician or an ER. There are lots of potential causes for this type of discomfort and you need to rule a few things out before considering acupuncture.
If you've already been through the conventional process and the doctors don't have a good answer for you, yes, acupuncture and Chinese medicine can often bring relief in this type of situation.
Please make sure you're seeing a board certified and state licensed acupuncturist. If you're not in CA, you can start with the "Find a Practitioner" look up at NCCAOM.org.
