“Can my boyfriend be present in my consultations at the ICU?”
I've been in the ICU for two days now, and my boyfriend visits me every so often. But when talking to one of the nurses, my boyfriend was asked to leave during my consultation. I don't know why though, since he had my permission to stay. Does this matter?

I am sorry to hear that you are in the ICU. I am not sure why your boyfriend is not allowed to be present for you consultation. You can always ask the physician that is providing consultation if it is okay. They have special visitor policy now during COVID-19, so not sure if that is the reason.
