“Can I say no to saying antibiotics after tooth extraction?”
I'm 28 years old, and I have to get my back molar removed next week. I don't like taking antibiotics, since I have better experience with healing naturally. Would it be okay if I say no to being prescribed them? Like, are they necessary?

Your dentist has to follow his or her own rules. He must do so for his and your protection. If you refuse to follow his advice then he must release you as a patient from his practice to avoid malpractice!
They are a preventative med to avoid a post operative infection. It is YOUR choice if you prefer to risk a complication and avoid taking a med unless it occurs.
They are not required, however, they are highly recommended in some situations. In these situations they can aid in prevention of dry socket. Also, if an infection gets into your blood stream this can lead to sepsis and death. Although rare, it is best to take antibiotics to avoid this painful and risky side effects.
